Provides funds to help homeowners make basic permanent repairs to their home. Finacing is in the form of a forgivable loan with a fifteen (15) year term at 0% interest. The loan is forgiven after the fifteen (15) year term. However, during that time, the loan will be due on sale, title transfer, or if the property ceases to be the homeowner's primary place of residence.

Minnesota Housing offers a variety of loan programs for first-time and repeat homebuyers and a refinancing loan program to help make owning a home more affordable.
We work with participating lenders across the state who can answer questions about program eligibility and the features of our programs, including downpayment and closing cost loan program options totaling up to $18,000 in available loans for eligible borrowers. NorthStar currently offers a variety of housing services including Housing Stabilization & Transitional Services. These services can be provided in St. Louis, Carlton, Lake, and Pine counties. Housing Services can assist individuals with finding and sustaining long-term housing options to live independently.

This program assists people who have a serious mental illness in making a smooth transition into living more independently in their community through housing and support services. These services include regular meetings with Rise staff, rapid rehousing, transitional housing, permanent supportive housing; based on eligibility, and assistance maintaining integration in the community.
Fridley, MN 55432
Also known as the Section 504 Home Repair program, this provides loans to very-low-income homeowners to repair, improve or modernize their homes or grants to elderly very-low-income homeowners to remove health and safety hazards.
Who may apply for this program?To qualify, you must:
Be the homeowner and occupy the house
Be unable to obtain affordable credit elsewhere
Have a household income that does not exceed the very low limit by county
For grants, be age 62 or older
TSA now offers Housing Stabilization Services (HSS)! HSS is a benefit, through Medical Assistance, to assist people with disabilities (including mental illness and substance use disorder) and seniors find and keep housing.
